In the heart of Hereford, there is a well-preserved half-timbered Jacobean structure called the Black and White House Museum. As a section of Butchers’ Row, it was constructed around 1621. Old House is the lone house from the original row that still stands as other structures on the row began to be torn down in 1816. Throughout its history, the home has been occupied by bankers, butchers, and ironmongers.

1882 saw the Old House undergo restoration.
