Herefordshire Wildlife Trust invite you to join us for the launch of our new strategy, A Wilder Herefordshire – More Nature Everywhere

What…the launch of our new strategy, A Wilder Herefordshire – More Nature Everywhere

Over the last six months we’ve been working with our members, supporters and partners to refresh and focus our strategy.

Join us to hear about the direction we’re now heading in and reflections from those we’ll be working with – farmers, young adults, landowners, action takers and more! Everyone attending will also be invited to participate.

When…18.00 – 20.00…..18.30 sharp is when we’ll bring everyone together for discussion

18.00 – Arrivals – connect to nature, connect to people – we’ll bring you a drink and a good slice of pizza while you do.

18.30 – 19.15 Strategy launch, reflections, actions ahead

19.15 – Networking and more nature!

Why are we doing this?….

We all need nature – for sustainable food production, good health, mental wellbeing and a thriving economy. However, as we face an ecological and climate crisis, nature needs us more than ever too.

We have a bold vision of a wilder Herefordshire with more nature everywhere – on farms, in rural areas, within our iconic rivers and in our towns too.

Our mission therefore, is to lead local action in our county, enabling our communities, businesses and wider partners to bring nature back.

To recover nature, we need 30% of all land in our county properly managed for nature by 2030. And that’s good for other ‘public goods’ too, such as cleaner air and cleaner water. Working together, we can create bigger, wilder, more connected landscapes across our county, so that nature, people and local economies can thrive.

To get there we have three strategic goals: 1) Putting nature in recovery, 2) Taking action for nature 3) Sustaining our organisation’s future. On the night we’ll hear a bit more about each and how we can all get involved in enabling them to be achieved.

How will the evening work?

Like Herefordshire Wildlife Trust, we hope the evening will be welcoming, purposeful and fun. You’ll be able to actively participate and understand how you can contribute to nature’s recovery. If you don’t know anybody yet, don’t worry, we’ll support you connect and get involved. If you prefer listening and soaking up the atmosphere, that’s fine too.

If you have questions about the event or would like to make a contribution, please be in touch with Jamie our CEO, 07950 658 865.
